EXERCISE
Exercise doesn’t have to be a dreaded chore. Finding activities you ENJOY that get your heart pumping and your body moving are essential components to Well Being. The key is ENJOYMENT and variety. Do activities you love and do different activities each day. There are many added health benefits if you enjoy what you’re doing.
EXERCISE
Simply changing the route on your daily walk can help bring novelty to your activity. You will move different muscles and exert different levels of energy each time you change your routine. Dancing, swimming, walking your dog (or pig, or goat), jumping on the trampoline with your children (or by yourself naked in the moonlight), or playing a traditional sport are all enjoyable forms of exercise.
Stretching and maintaining flexibility is also an essential component to Well Being. You don’t have to be a super flexible Yogi master to practice yoga, either. Simply stretching your muscles and increasing flow in our facia (one type of connective tissue) can provide significant benefits to your health.
Take out your phone and play a song that makes you want to shake your booty! Dance as hard as you can for the length of the song. Songs are anywhere from 3-5 minutes long. You’ve just added that much time to your daily activity goal AND it was enjoyable!
